Hugh Dancy, Kathryn Hahn, Shirley Knight and Janet Montgomery have signed on to join the cast of indie comedy “My Idiot Brother.”
Pic, now shooting in Gotham, stars Paul Rudd as a man who upends the lives of his three ambitious sisters — played by Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer.
Knight will play Rudd’s mother with Hahn (“Revolutionary Road”) on board as his ex. Dancy appears as a friend of one of Rudd’s sisters, while Montgomery (“Black Swan”) portrays an aristocratic Brit.
Written by Evgenia Peretz and David Schisgall and helmed by Jesse Peretz, “My Idiot Brother” is produced by Anthony Bregman of Likely Story and Peter Saraf and Marc Turtletaub of Big Beach.
Next up for Likely Story, which just wrapped production on “The Oranges,” is the Magnolia release of “The Extra Man,” while the Overture release of “Jack Goes Boating” is on tap for Big Beach.
