Codeblack acquires ‘Legacy’

Film stars Idris Elba

Codeblack Entertainment has acquired North American rights to “Legacy” starring Idris Elba.

Pic is slated for release in late 2010.

Written and directed by Thomas Ikimi, “Legacy” won the Grand Jury Prize for film at 2010’s American Black Film Fest and made its U.S. debut at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.

Elba, known for roles in “The Wire” and “Obsessed,” portrays a black-ops soldier struggling to cope after his kidnap and torture.

Andrew Herwitz, President of the Film Sales Company and Codeblack GM Quincy Newell brokered the deal.
