Actor joins Keener, Fonda in indie

Chace Crawford has been tapped to join the cast of “Peace, Love and Misunderstanding,” the Bruce Beresford-helmed indie toplined by Catherine Keener and Jane Fonda.

Movie follows a Gotham lawyer (Keener) who retreats to the farmhouse owned by her hippie mother (Fonda) after her husband asks for a divorce. Crawford will play an anti-war butcher who arouses the romantic interest of the daughter of Keener’s character.

“Peace, Love” is set to lens in New York state’s Hudson Valley, with an exact start date to be determined. Pic is produced by BCDF Pictures’ Claude Dal Farra, Brice Dal Farra, Lauren Munsch and Jonathan Burkhart.

Another film helmed by Beresford (“Tender Mercies,” “Driving Miss Daisy”), “Mao’s Last Dancer,” is heading for a U.S. theatrical release from Samuel Goldwyn Films in August.
