‘Certainty’ heads into production

Comedic drama to begin principal photography in Gotham

Comedic drama “Certainty” is gearing up to start production May 24 in Gotham.

Peter Askin (“Trumbo”), tipped to helm the upcoming Broadway staging of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” directs a script by Mike O’Malley, the thesp best known for his recurring stint on “Glee” as Kurt’s dad.

“Certainty” is based on O’Malley’s play “Searching for Certainty,” which played L.A. in a production from O’Malley’s Mineral Theater. Troupe is presenting a run of Scott Caan play “Two Wrongs.”

With a cast led by newcomers Adelaide Clemens and Tom Lipinski, “Certainty” follows a young couple’s experiences in the counseling course required before getting married in a Catholic church.

Will Battersby, O’Malley and Per Melita produce.
