Four join cast for indie crime drama

Michelle Arthur, Bob Balaban, David Harbour and Lea Thompson have joined the cast of indie crime drama “The Convincer,” joining Greg Kinnear, Alan Arkin and Billy Crudup.

Pic’s by Jill Sprecher and Karen Sprecher and directed by Jill Sprecher. Producers are Mary Frances Budig, Christine Walker and Elizabeth Redleaf for Werc Werk Works.

“The Convincer” follows a desperate insurance salesman in the Midwest whose scheme to get a hold of a rare violin leads to unforeseen consequences. The production is currently shooting on locations around Minneaopolis and St. Paul.

Balaban is in “Howl.” Harbour was recently seen in “State of Play” and “Revolutionary Road.” Arthur most recently appeared in the Starz sitcom “Head Case.”

Werc Werk Works, based in Minnesota, has produced Todd Solondz’s “Life During Wartime.” Upcoming titles include Bela Tarr’s “The Turin Horse.”
