Jovovich, Macy, McGraw and Steenburgen join indie film
Indie comedy “Dirty Girl” has rounded out its cast with Milla Jovovich, William H. Macy, Mary Steenburgen, Dwight Yoakam and Tim McGraw.
Pic, set in 1987 in Oklahoma, stars Juno Temple as a high school tramp seeking the father she never knew who runs away with a closeted gay boy who wants to escape going to military school, portrayed by newcomer Jeremy Dozier.
“Dirty Girl” has started shooting in Los Angeles, helmed by first-time writer-director Abe Sylvia. His script was on the Black List in 2007.
“Dirty Girl” is being produced by Rob Paris and iDeal’s Jana Edelbaum and Rachel Cohen. The film is being financed by iDeal Partners in conjunction with Hart/Lunsford Pictures, Cherry Sky and the Salt Company. WME Global helped put together the financing for the film and will handle domestic sales; London-based sales and financing entity Salt will handle international.
Exec producers include Ed Hart, Joan Huang, Samantha Horley, Robert Bevan, Cyril Megret, Christine Vachon, Pam Koffler, Daniel Crown and Michael Lesser.
