Exec to head group's national office
Film New Zealand has tapped Gisella Carr, who comes from the fundraising department of NZ’s national museum Te Papa, as its topper.
Carr, who has extensive experience in the visual and creative arts, will head the group’s national office in Wellington.
Film NZ chair Julian Grimmond, who made the announcement Tuesday, said she will be a boost for the marketing side of the org as well as help to sell the brand internationally.
Carr said despite a wealth of recent international productions including “The Lovely Bones” and “Avatar,” she will need to keep the country appealing to runaway productions.
“We are one of the world’s best screen production destinations, but we need to be ever-alert to the increasingly complex international landscape,” Carr said.
