‘Cannons’ fires up sales

Comedy inks sales in handful of countries

Fandango Portobello Sales has inked a raft of deals on Turkish-Italian helmer Ferzan Ozpetek’s coming-out comedy “Loose Cannons,” which world-preemed in Berlin’s Panorama Special.

Produced by Domenico Procacci’s Fandango, “Cannons,” which centers on the comic struggle of a pasta industrialist’s son to reveal to his family that he’s gay, has been snapped up at the EFM by eight international distribs, including Prokino for Germany and Austria, Vertigo for Spain, Transmission Films for Australia and New Zealand, and CTV for Mexico.

Ozpetek’s latest, which toplines Riccardo Scamarcio (“Eden Is West”), will go out on Italian screens on March 12 via 01 Distribution.
