'Megamind' premiere's super draw
It was a blue carpet affair at the Gotham premiere of “Megamind,” held Nov. 3 at AMC Lincoln Square Theater. Brad Pitt, who provides the voice for Metro Man, said his childhood hero was Batman. “I was all for the Dark Knight, but that was preschool,” said Pitt, who brought a couple of his sons to the preem.
As for superhero powers in real life? “I’m a father of six,” said Pitt, “I think that’s pretty close.”
“Megamind” director Tom McGrath had a different answer. “If I could turn into Brad Pitt, that would be amazing,” he said.
Tina Fey, who grew up idolizing Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman, said she didn’t mind being the only girl in a cast that includes Will Ferrell and Jonah Hill. “I think all these gentlemen are very evolved,” she said, “they’re all very lady-friendly gentlemen.”
Ben Stiller also made the preem, and for good reason: his Red Hour Films produced along with DreamWorks Animation and Pacific Data Images.
