Boxing day arrives early in NYC

'Fighter' screens at SVA Theater

Getting Christian Bale to show emotion in public is tough, but you can add it to the many talents of his co-star Mark Wahlberg.

At Friday’s screening of Relativity Media and Paramount’s “The Fighter,” Wahlberg got Bale going. Standing in the lobby of the SVA Theater, the pic’s star-producer bobbed and weaved behind guests, shouting repeatedly, “Hey Christian, who would win in a fight, me or you?”

Finally, Bale lifted his subdued mien and hollered back at Wahlberg, “What do you think?”

Cinema Society’s presentation of the boxing pic benefited the Cinema School, which is the country’s first film high school, located in the South Bronx.
