Boss clocks in for Doc NYC

Springsteen documentary added to lineup

The world premiere of “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” a concert docu featuring Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band, is among the final titles added to the inaugural lineup of the first Doc NYC festival.

Also new to the fest, which kicks off Nov. 3, is Stephen Higgins’ “The Road To Carnegie Hall,” about online auditions for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra.

Additional discussions and events include the Orphan Film Symposium on NYC, which features forgotten footage of the city dating to the 1920s; a radio-centric event called “The Medium Formerly Known as Radio: The Evocative Power of Sound”; and a discussion with Russian photog Lena Herzog.

Doc NYC, spearheaded by John Vanco, Thom Powers and Raphaela Neihausen (the trio behind IFC Center’s “Stranger Than Fiction” series), includes previously announced screenings of Werner Herzog’s 3D “Cave of Forgotten Dreams” and Errol Morris’ “Tabloid.”
