Filmmaker to unveil works at exhibition in Brentwood
Like most filmmakers, Blake Edwards loves to play with visuals. But his experimentation isn’t confined to the bigscreen. Edwards has kept busy as a painter and sculptor for the past 40 years, and he’ll unveil some of his works in an exhibition set to run June 8-26 at the Leslie Sacks Fine Art Gallery in Brentwood. A portion of the proceeds from the “Lenses” show will be donated to the nonprofit org Operation USA to support Haitian earthquake relief efforts. Edwards and his wife, Julie Andrews, will host a preview reception on June 5. “These two artists are as passionate about humanistic concerns as they are about art,” Operation USA founder Richard Walden said of Edwards and Andrews.
