SYDNEY — Belvoir has announced that two of this year’s productions are headed for an international aud.
“Diary of a Madman,” directed by Neil Armfield and toplining Geoffrey Rush, will head for a month-long run at Brooklyn’s Academy of Music from Feb. 11.
“Diary” is Armfield’s Belvoir swansong and follows on from the Tony-award winning collaboration with Rush on “Enter the King” in 2009. Rush and Armfield first produced “Madman” Down Under in 1989 to plaudits.
Tuner “The Sapphires,” about an indigenous girl group formed to entertain Aussie troops in Vietnam, will also head to Blighty for a season at the Barbican in March.
