On Nov. 9, the Chinese Theater was buzzing like a title fight at AFI Fest’s “secret” screening of “The Fighter.”
Mark Wahlberg, who produced and stars in the boxing drama, was on hand to introduce the pic. “I haven’t seen a crowd like this since I performed with the Funky Bunch,” he joked.
After thanking Paramount, Relativity Media and David O. Russell, Wahlberg made his big pitch: “I had to do a lotta cheating and stealing and lying to get this movie made, so if you don’t like it, let me know and I will personally come to your house and give you back the two hours you spent watching it. I’ll cook, clean, move shit, anything!” – –
