Character actor John Davis Chandler died Feb. 16 in Toluca Lake. He was 75.

Chandler specialized in crazy and mean baddies, using his stocky build and whiny voice to portray neurotics in Sam Peckinpah’s “Ride the High Country” and “The Young Savages.”

Chandler’s other memorial villains were in “The Shadow of Chikara” and Clint Eastwood’s “The Outlaw Josey Wales.”

Thesp’s foray into TV yielded roles in “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “ER,” and “Chicago Hope,” among others.

Born in West Virginia, Chandler moved with his family to Southern California at a young age. He was also an avid yoga practioner.
