Universal adjusts slate

Damon-starrer 'Bureau' moves to March 4

Universal is adjusting its future slate, bumping Matt Damon starrer “The Adjustment Bureau” from its original Sept. 17 release date to a spring launch pad on March 4.

U’s “Devil,” about a group of people stuck in an elevator with the horned entity, now occupies the September slot.

“Bureau,” co-starring Emily Blunt, would have repped the third title for Damon this year. Thesp has the Coen brothers’ remake of “True Grit” set to launch in December, followed by Clint Eastwood’s “Hereafter” in October.

According to U prexy of domestic distribution Nikki Rocco, Damon approved the move, saying, “He’s very proud of the film, and moving it to spring gives him a chance to really work the film.”

Damon plays a rising politician who fights a team of future adjusters to be with the woman (Blunt) he loves. Pic, based on a sci-fi story by Philip K. Dick, is directed and scripted by George Nolfi.

U made a similar move last year when it pulled “Green Zone” from its fall 2009 release and instead debuted it on March 12.

Slated for release this year, U’s thriller “Skyline” will debut Nov. 12, followed by “Kids in America,” starring Anna Faris and Michelle Trachtenberg, on Dec. 3. Robert De Niro starrer “The Dark Fields” will bow Jan. 21; the thriller “Sanctum” on Feb. 4; and Seth Rogen-voiced comedy “Paul” on March 18.
