Stephen Norrington set to ‘Patrol’

Director will also write supernatural WWII thriller

Legendary Pictures has tapped Stephen Norrington to write and direct supernatural action thriller “The Lost Patrol.”

Rick Porras (“The Lord of the Rings”) and Steven Boyd (“A Christmas Carol”) are producing the project along with Legendary.

The project, set against the backdrop of World War II, was initially purchased as a spec penned by Andrew Hilton.

The Lost Patrol’ hits all of my geek-buttons: hardware, heroes, grime, insane monsters,” Norrington said.

Norrington’s helming credits include “Blade” and “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.” He’s also in development on a remake of “The Crow.”

Legendary, under its partnership with Warner Bros., is prepping “Clash of the Titans,” “Due Date” and “Inception” for release this year and “Jack the Giant Killer,” with Bryan Singer directing, for 2011.
