Cassidy and Associates to rep guild
The Screen Actors Guild has hired Cassidy & Associates as its lobbyist in Washington, D.C.
The union has terminated its relationship with Kilpatrick Stockton after more than two years and paying nearly $375,000 in lobbying fees, according to a SAG rep. Cassidy, headed by former Rep. Marty Russo (D-Ill.), will work in areas related to tax and digital online theft.
“Cassidy was brought on to assist us with a precise legislative agenda including tax issues important to performers, intellectual property protections and other entertainment and media matters,” said Nancy Fox, national director of government relations and policy for SAG. “The move was made to focus our agenda on those issues and further strengthen our government affairs outreach.”
