Teen actor Ezra Miller is set to star opposite Tilda Swinton and John C. Reilly in Lynne Ramsay’s psychological thriller “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” based on Lionel Shriver’s novel.
Ramsay began lensing this week in Connecticut. She and Rory Kinnear co-wrote the adapted script.
“Kevin” is a presentation of BBC Films and the UK Film Council. Jennifer Fox (“Michael Clayton”) produced with Independent Film Co., which is repping international rights.
Story revolves around a boy who embarks on a horrific rampage two days before his 16th birthday.
Producers are Fox and Independent’s Luc Roeg and Bob Salerno.
BBC Films’ Christine Langan and Paula Jalfon developed the project, while Steven Soderbergh, Langan and Jalfon are among the exec producers.
“Kevin” is Ramsay’s return to directing after a long hiatus. Her last film was “Morvern Callar” in 2002.
