Phase 4 finds ‘Bliss’

Company nabs N. American rights to romantic comedy

Toronto-based Phase 4 Films has picked up North American rights to “Finding Bliss,” starring Leelee Sobieski, Denise Richards, Jamie Kennedy and Kristen Johnston.

Based loosely on writer-director Julie Davis’ experiences, the romantic comedy follows an aspiring filmmaker who ends up working as an editor on a “crossover” adult film. Pic bowed at last year’s Slamdance Film Festival.

Davis’ prior films include 2001’s “Amy’s Orgasm” and 1997’s “I Love You, Don’t Touch Me!”

Phase 4 has set a spring theatrical release.

Distrib recently acquired U.S. rights to Brigitte Berman’s docu “Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel” and Sundance pic “The Freebie.”
