Par Intl. adds new executive VP

Ian George departs Fox U.K. to take spot

Ian George has been appointed exec VP of international marketing at Paramount Pictures Intl. and will leave his post as managing director for 20th Century Fox U.K.

He will take over from John Anderson, who is leaving at the end of the year to return to his native Australia.

Anderson has headed up marketing for PPI since its 2007 inception and has presided over two consecutive robust years for the studio.

George spent four years at Fox, where he oversaw the release of “Avatar.”

Previously he was at Pathe U.K. for seven years, where he oversaw the marketing and distribution of more than 20 films per year.

His other gigs include a stint as marketing director for Warner Bros U.K. and posts at ad agencies Grey Entertainment and Media and FCO.

George is expected to take up his duties at Paramount this fall.
