Outfest to honor Jane Lynch

Thesp to receive LGBT achievement award

Comic thesp Jane Lynch has been tapped to receive the 14th annual Achievement Award from Outfest.

The honor will be presented prior to the opening night gala screening on July 8 at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.

The Achievement Award, the org’s highest honor, is presented in recognition of a body of work that has made a significant contribution to LGBT film and media.

Previous recipients include Don Roos, Jane Anderson, Gregg Araki and Rob Epstein.

Lynch, a longtime gay rights activist, recently received a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester on Fox’s “Glee.” She has collaborated with Christopher Guest on numerous projects, with additional credits including “Julie & Julia,” “Post Grad,” “Desperate Housewives” and “Weeds.”
