Minkoff plots indie action-comedy

Foresight reps Patrick Dempsey pic at Cannes

Marking his first indie, Rob Minkoff will direct Patrick Dempsey action-comedy “Flypaper.”

Foresight Unlimited is shopping the project at Cannes. Minkoff begins lensing June 7 in Louisiana.

Penned by “The Hangover” scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, “Flypaper” tells the tale of a bank that is robbed by two different groups of crooks at the same time. However, they both come under attack by a secret enemy (Dempsey), to save the bank teller whom he loves.

Casting for the lead female role hasn’t been announced.

Dempsey, Peter Safran, Mark Damon, Joannie Burstein and Tamara Stuparich de la Barra are producing. Gudrun Giddings is exec producer.

Foresight is a full-service film production and sales company run by Damon.
