The Czech Republic’s 45th Karlovy Vary Film Festival added four more competition titles to its slate on Tuesday in the run-up to its July 2 kickoff.
Spanish director Agusti Vila will bring “The Mosquito Net,” a middle-class tragicomedy, starring Geraldine Chaplin.
Argentine director Daniel Burman’s “Brother and Sister,” about siblings approaching the end of their lives with humor, will have its international preem.
French-language Canadian entry “Mourning for Anna,” by writer/director Catherine Martin, stars Guylaine Tremblay as a mother coming to terms with her daughter’s violent death.
Croatian director Rajko Grlic will bring the international preem of satire “Just Between Us,” starring Miki Manojlovic.
Previously announced main competition titles are “Mother Teresa of Cats” by Polish debut director Pawel Sala, French director Olivier Coussemacq’s psychological thriller “Sweet Evil,” Czech director Jan Sverak’s “Kooky” and Czech director Tomas Masin’s “3 Seasons in Hell.”
