“Jurassic Parq: The Broadway Musical” and “The Hurricane Katrina Comedy Festival” were among the winners at the kudos ceremony that wrapped the 2010 New York Fringe Festival on Sunday.
“Jurassic Parq,” a tongue-in-cheek redux of the pic told from the dinosaurs’ P.O.V., won for overall production in the musical category, along with summer-camp tale “Bunked!” Plays that picked up overall excellence laurels include docu tragicomedy “Katrina Comedy Festival,” history-based “The Twentieth Century Way,” eerie offering “PigPen Presents: The Nightmare Stories” and comedy “The Momentum.”
Trophies also were handed out in categories including directing, performance, ensemble, solo and dance.
Fest rolled out 200 performances at 10 venues in its 17-day run.
Dates for the 2011 Fringe fest are already set for Aug. 12-28.
