Fox nabs film rights to ‘Incognito’

Ed Brubacker's graphic novel gets pic treatment

Twentieth Century Fox has nabbed the film rights to Ed Brubaker’s graphic novel “Incognito” for Chernin Entertainment and Circle of Confusion.

Scribe Robert Schenkkan has been brought aboard to adapt the action-thriller, which is envisioned as a tale about the redemption of a super villain.

Brubaker’s “Incognito” revolves around Zack Overkill, who has entered the witness protection program after testifying against his boss, Black Death. He’s forced to take a drug that strips him of his powers, but he regains his strength when he experiments with new drugs. Soon he’s a masked vigilante fighting villains.

Project reunites Chernin Entertainment and Brubaker for the second time, and in short order. Fox-based Chernin Entertainment is developing a new version of “Daredevil,” based on Brubaker’s comicbook. Shingle also is producing “Caesar: Rise of the Apes” for Fox.

Circle of Confusion manages Brubaker.
