Film Movement finds a ‘Man’

Unit acquires Cannes pic

Film Movement has acquired “A Screaming Man,” which won the Jury Prize at Cannes, in association with UK distributor Soda Pictures.

Film Movement will release “A Screaming Man” in North America during the first quarter while Soda will oversee distribution in the UK and Ireland, premiering the film at the London Film Festival in October.

The pic’s written and directed by Chadian filmmaker Mahamat-Saleh Haroun and centers on a former swimming champion who’s a pool attendant at a hotel in Chad. When the hotel gets taken over by new Chinese owners, he is forced to give up his job to his son.
