E1 Entertainment has picked up U.S. rights to the Ashley Judd starrer “Helen.”
Pic will get a theatrical release in Gotham this summer prior to its release on homevideo, VOD and digital platforms.
Also starring Goran Visnjic, “Helen” preemed at Sundance in 2009. Pic, written and directed by Sandra Nettelbeck, centers on a woman grappling with depression.
Distribution deal was negotiated by E1’s Sejin Park with Vera Rights Management’s Brigitte Sachse.
Theatrical run of “Helen” is targeted for July, with multiple platforms to follow. Latest offering from E1 is Taylor Hackford’s “Love Ranch” starring Helen Mirren.
