'Bastard,' 'The Clerk's Tale' screen on May 20
PARIS — Short films by thesps Kirstin Dunst and James Franco will be closing this year’s Cannes Critics’ Week, announced the fest today in Paris.
Dunst’s 6 minute short, “Bastard,” stars Brian Geraghty, Juno Temple and Lukas Haas, and depicts a couple who winds up in a desert motel where they’re met by three men for mysterious reasons. Short will also be playing in competition in Tribeca.
Franco’s “The Clerk’s Tale” is the thesp’s third short to date, and is based on a poem of the same title by Spencer Reese. Franco’s backstage docu “Saturday Night” recently bowed at the South by Southwest film festival.
Both films screen May 20 in Cannes.
The Critics’ Week runs from May 13-21.
