'Once' helmer, brother direct Irish comedy
LONDON — Down Under distrib Curious Film has nabbed Aussie and Kiwi rights to Irish comedy “Zonad.”
Pic, which is directed and penned by “Once” helmer John Carney and his brother Kieran, is an unhinged comedy about the adventures of an alleged visitor from outer space in a small Irish town.
The Element Pictures production stars David Murray and Simon Delaney and is produced by Ed Guiney (“The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse”), Andrew Lowe (“The Wind That Shakes the Barley”) and John McDonnell (“The Tiger’s Tail”).
Pic is sold by The Works Intl.
