C2 falls for ‘Dana Valentine’

Comicbook-based feature in the works

Newly minted C2 Entertainment has launched feature development of “Dana Valentine: Brains, Beauty and Bullets,” based on the femme-fatale comicbook series.

The series, written and illustrated by Daniel Cooney for Red Eye Press, centers on a female contract killer and explores the impact of her morally questionable profession, which makes her a liability to everyone she has met, in addition to herself.

C2 has evolved from Filmlook Media and Post, a company that’s been in operation for more than 20 years. Principals Anna Cordova and Robert Faber are signing various option and collaboration agreements with Filmlook clients.

The Valentine catalog includes 12 issues of the comicbooks and three trade paperback graphic novels — “Fully Loaded,” “Red Rain” and “The Killing Moon.” A fourth graphic novel will be published in the fourth quarter.

C2 Entertainment is planning for a $25 million to $30 million production budget for the live-action “Dana Valentine.” Cordova is in initial discussions with potential screenwriters and directors.
