Peter Medak is directing the indie thriller

Maria Bello and Stephen Dorff are toplining indie thriller “Carjacked,” with Peter Medak directing and production starting next month in Baton Rouge, La.

“Carjacked” is produced by Michael Compton and Richard Iott, with Sherry Compton, Eric Gozlan, Michael Greenfield and Daniel Grodnik exec producing.

Story, penned by Sherry and Michael Compton, centers on a single mother and child who are carjacked by a bank robber who has no intention of letting them go.

Bello’s recent projects include “Grown Ups,” “The Company Men” and “Beautiful Boy” opposite Michael Sheen. She recently completed production on “Abduction” opposite Taylor Lautner.

Dorff recently wrapped Relativity Media’s Greek mythology clash pic “Immortals.”

Medak’s worked extensively in TV. His feature crdits include “The Krays,” “The Ruling Class,” “Romeo Is Bleeding” and “Zorro, the Gay Blade.”
