The Florida theme park made the announcement Thursday, nearly three years after Universal and Warner Bros. first disclosed their initial plans. The Wizarding World features a replicated Hogwarts castle and will contain a trio of components — Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff and Dragon Challenge.
“Forbidden Journey” will employ footage of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
“Guests will experience firsthand a completely new adventure featuring the iconic characters, amazing creatures and recognizable locations they’ve only read in the books or seen in the films,” said Thierry Coup, creative director for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
The J.K. Rowling books have sold more than 400 million copies and the six Warner Bros. films have grossed more than $5.4 billion worldwide.
