Par bumps Evans to production prexy

Exec shuffle completes reorg of creative unit

Marc Evans has been upped to president of production at Paramount Pictures, completing a reorganization of the studio’s creative division that began more than a year ago.

Evans, who had served as exec VP of production, will continue to report directly to Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman.

Goodman took over the top post in May 2009 upon the exit of John Lesher. At the same time that Lesher exited, Brad Weston stepped down as prexy of production.

Evans joined Paramount in 2003. Titles he has supervised include “Star Trek,” “Mission: Impossible III” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

He’s currently supervising “Transformers 3,” “Super 8,” “Rango,” “Morning Glory,” “The Last Airbender” and the fourth “Mission: Impossible” installment, which is slated to start production in August.

“Marc has grown into an invaluable contributor to the creative process and he is a natural choice to fill this role,” Goodman said.

“His track record demonstrates his great ability to juggle highly complex productions with complete grace and ease. He has terrific relationships, a passion for filmmakers and a great work ethic.”

Prior to joining Paramount, Evans served as exec VP at Laura Ziskin Prods. Other gigs included exec VP of Industry Entertainment. He also spent five years as program director of the Chicago Intl. Film Festival.
