DreamWorks snags Fleischer pic

Studio picks up action-comedy from director

DreamWorks Studios has picked up an untitled buddy comedy pitch from director Ruben Fleischer, based on his original idea.

Script will be penned by Mike Arnold and Chris Poole, who also wrote “Homeschooled,” a former DreamWorks project that remained at Paramount after the split.

Action-comedy’s logline is being kept under wraps.

Nicholas Stoller (“Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Get Him to the Greek”) will produce the untitled buddy laffer with Gavin Polone.

Fleischer and Polone worked together previously on “Zombieland.”

Fleischer is exec producing the new project at DreamWorks.

Some websites have speculated that Fleischer is among the directors being considered to helm “Mission: Impossible 4.” So far, Par has been mum.

Fleischer is repped by UTA; Arnold and Poole, by CAA and Principato/Young.
