'Hangover,' Bullock were night's top dogs
Despite the dreary weather, Warners managed to have a bash at the annual Warner Bros. and InStyle gala.
Held inside the BevHilton’s Oasis courtyard, the studio constructed a large, ubiquitous tent to provide shelter for the night’s top dog, “The Hangover.”
“I think we’re all in shock about the whole thing,” said director Todd Phillips. “Never ever did we expect to win any type of awards for this film — we just wanted to make people laugh.”
“Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlene said he was also a fan of the laffer.
“I recently watched it in my hotel room in Hawaii and was really impressed,” he said. “Absolutely hilarious.”
A popular (and close) destination for Globes winners and guests, the event featured WB stars and attendees Gerard Butler, Matt Damon, Zac Efron and Sandra Bullock and came equipped with a chocolate lounge courtesy of Godiva.
Meanwhile, “Glee” star Matthew Morrison was still reeling from the show’s best comedy prize.
“It’s been such an incredible year,” the thesp said. “The cast is one like giant, happy family and, wait, listen.”
One of “Glee’s” hit anthems — “Don’t Stop Believin’?” — erupted from the speakers.
“See? This is the kind of year it’s been,” Morrison said. “They can’t make this stuff up!”
