Mental health at center of Prism Awards

'Crazy Heart,' 'Soloist' draw best feature nominations

“Crazy Heart,” “A Single Man” and “The Soloist” are among the nominees for best feature at the 14th annual Prism Awards, which honor media for bringing attention to substance abuse and mental-health issues.

Vying for top honors in the feature film performance category are Jeff Bridges (“Crazy Heart”), Maggie Gyllenhaal (“Crazy Heart”), Tobey Maguire (“Brothers”), Robert Downey Jr. (“The Soloist”) and Jamie Foxx (“The Soloist”).

On the smallscreen, “Glee,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Monk,” “The Simpsons” and “United States of Tara” grabbed noms for a comedy series, while “ER,” “Law and Order” and “The Cleaner” are among the nominees in the drama categories.

Produced by the Entertainment Industries Council and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the awards ceremony will be held April 22 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
