At the BAFTA/LA pre-Golden Globes tea party hosted by Beefeater 24 on Saturday the guest who caused the most stir was without a doubt Paul McCartney.
Those who managed to chat with the former Beatle, such as “Community” star Alison Brie, were pretty thrilled by the experience.
As for the upcoming awards, “Up in the Air” helmer Jason Reitman said the attention never gets tiring. “Seeing your movie in a movie theater never gets old, seeing people appreciate it,” he said.
Christoph Waltz said he’s been through the awards hoopla before and didn’t take it too seriously. “We’ll see if it’s a bingo,” he said, quoting a line from “Inglourious Basterds.”
Among the guests were Jane Fonda; “Avatar’s” Stephen Lang (“I was invited”); “Up in the Air” co-star Anna Kendrick; “Inglourious Basterds'” Quentin Tarantino, Lawrence Bender; “A Single Man” star Julianne Moore; “The Office” cast members Leslie David Baker, Kate Flannery, Creed Bratton and Oscar Martinez; plus “Modern Family’s” Ty Burrell.
