Vevo, which boasts content from three of the Big Four record labels — including co-founders Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment — and the digital division of leading Spanish-language network Univision Communications have formed a partnership that would make Vevo’s music entertainment catalog available on Univision’s newly minted Musica site, as well as on Univision’s local TV and radio websites.
Starting today, Musica’s programming will be powered in part by Vevo, which will provide access to its thousands of music videos, original series and streamed concerts, among other events.
“The popularity of Vevo’s music programming among Hispanics has proven to be very strong and this new partnership with Univision Interactive Media will provide an even stronger link between Vevo and the millions of music fans amongst the Hispanic community,” said Rio Caraeff, Vevo’s president and CEO, in a statement.
According to a Simmons and Nielsen Custom Studies that covers 2002-10, Univision.com continues to be the most-visited Spanish-language website among U.S. Hispanics for the ninth year in a row.
“In partnering with leaders in the music space like Vevo, we are giving our music fans access to great video content along with an enhanced interactive experience,” said Kevin Conroy, president, Univision Interactive Media.
