Saturn kudos for ‘Avatar’

James Cameron to receive Visionary Award

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films will honor James Cameron, Lauren Shuler-Donner, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci at the 36th annual Saturn Awards on June 24.

James Cameron will receive the Visionary Award for “Avatar.”

The Producers Showcase award will be given to Lauren Shuler-Donner, whose work include “Free Willy” and the “X-Men” franchise.

Filmmakers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will receive the George Pal Memorial Award, one of the Sci Fi Academy’s highest honors, for their work on many feature films including “Transformers” and “Star Trek.”
