Microsoft Corp. will endow USC’s School of Cinematic Arts’ Interactive Media Division with the Microsoft Next Generation Entertainment Initiative.
Gift, comprised of an endowed faculty member, professorship and financial support, is expected to begin next summer.
New partnership will support the division’s efforts to develop interactive entertainment and provide Microsoft access to emerging ideas and technology.
“As film and television did before it, interactive media is evolving into an art form that will only become richer and more exciting,” said USC film school dean Elizabeth Daley.
USC’s Interactive Media Division, named the top undergraduate game design program by the Princeton Review, provides education and research into the future of interactive media.
