Hulu Plus adds TiVo, Roku as partners

Deal allows platforms to carry Hulu content

Hulu has added Roku and TiVo to its lineup of distribution partners for the launch of Hulu Plus.

Platforms will join Hulu Desktop, Apple’s iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and 3rd generation iPod Touch, PlayStation 3 and select Samsung web-enabled TVs and Blu-ray players in offering an expanded selection of TV content for a $10 monthly fee. More than programs from ABC, Fox and NBC, including “Modern Family,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Glee,” join full series runs and back seasons of vintage shows including “The X-Files,” “Saturday Night Live” and “Miami Vice.”

Hulu expects to make Hulu Plus widely available to the public in the coming months. In addition to Roku and TiVo, select internet TVs from Sony Bravia and Vizio, as well as the Xbox 360, will offer the service in early 2011.
