Disney Channel will utilize this week’s debut of its TV movie “Camp Rock 2” to help launch its latest animated series.
An 11-minute preview of “Fish Hooks” is set to air 9:45 p.m. Friday, following the premiere of “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.”
“Fish Hooks” will then move into its normal time slot at 9 p.m. Sept. 24.
Animated series centers on three high-schoolers — Milo, Bea and Oscar — who happen to be fish.
Children’s book illustrator and author Noah Z. Jones (“Not Norman”) is behind the series, which is produced via digital animation and photo collage.
Kyle Massey (“Cory in the House”), Chelsea Staub (“Jonas L.A.”) and Justin Roiland (“The Sarah Silverman Program”) provide the lead character voices. Rachel Dratch, Richard Simmons, Jerry Stiller and Edie McClurg also appear.
Maxwell Atoms (“The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy”) exec produces, while Jones is the co-executive producer. Carl Greenblatt (“Chowder”) and Bill Reiss (“Chowder”) are directors.
Disney Channel will make a full episode of “Fish Hooks” available as a preview on video-on-demand starting Sept. 17.
