Adult Swim lights up third 'Star Wars' parody
Seth Green and Matthew Senreich will exec produce via their Stoopid Monkey Prods. shingle. “We’re telling more of a linear story this time that covers the series from start to finish,” Green said. Efron, who will play Anakin Skywalker, joins an ensemble that is a healthy mix of performers from “Chicken” and the original “Star Wars” films, including Anthony Daniels (C3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Annie-winner Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks). In addition to Efron, Mike Henry (“The Cleveland Show”) and Donald Glover (“Community”) will be new to a voice cast that includes several familiar voices from past “Robot Chicken” efforts: Green, Senreich, Breckin Meyer, Seth MacFarlane, Dan Milano, Abraham Benrubi, Donald Faison, Rachael Leigh Cook, Adrianne Palicki, Eden Espinosa, Hugh Davidson, Bob Bergen, Keith Ferguson, Tom Kane and Zeb Wells. The writing credits for the special are similarly extensive, including not only Green, Senreich, Meyer, Davidson and Milano, but also “Robot” series head writers Douglas Goldstein and Tom Root, along with Mike Fasolo, Hugh Sterbakov, Geoff Johns and Kevin Shinick. “We’ll get a unique perspective from the bad guy side, from people who just want to rule the universe,” Senreich said. Last week, the “Robot Chicken” series earned two 2010 Emmy nominations: for short-format animated program and voiceover performance (Green).
