Deluxe Digital Media expands

Company buys post-production facility

Deluxe Digital Media is looking toward the future with its acquisition of Next Element, a file-based post production facility.

The move expands Deluxe’s presence in television post production from its locations in Gotham, Vancouver and Toronto to Los Angeles.

“This allows us to offer a very robust suite of television post production services that connects all of the major production centers in North America,” said Gray Ains-worth, senior VP of operations.

Next Element, now operating as Next Element by Deluxe, will round out Deluxe’s post production offerings with its focus on digital workflows. This poises Deluxe for the future as the production world transitions from physical to digital media. Deluxe will also acquire Next Element’s mobilabs, a location-based service for digitally acquired shows.

“We want to be content stewards for people,” Ainsworth said. “We can take content in any form, at any stage of its life and manage it for the rest of its life.”

Bruce Long, former CEO of Next Element, will lead Next Element by Deluxe as the senior VP of post production. The company will remain in Burbank and retain its current employees.
