The as yet unnamed 3D TV network to be launched by Sony, Discovery Communications and Imax has tapped two key executives.
Julia Rao is chief financial officer and Mark Ringwald is director of scheduling and acquisitions. Rao has been CFO for several of Discovery’s cable nets, including Animal Planet, Planet Green, Discovery Health and FitTV. She was senior director for the network portfolio at Discovery Channel, Science Channel, Military Channel and Investigation Discovery. She has also been a consultant for the World Bank and the National Science Foundation. Ringwald was most recently VP of programming for AmericanLife TV Network.
