Veteran exec Jonathan McHugh has been named senior VP of film, TV and soundtracks at Island Def Jam Music Group.
L.A.-based McHugh is charged with developing placements for IDJ acts in film, TV and videogames. He will report jointly to IDJ president-chief operating officer Steve Bartels and chairman Antonio “LA” Reid.
McHugh most recently headed Song Stew Entertainment, an independent film and TV production and music supervision company. The company’s projects included Lionsgate’s “Repo! The Genetic Opera,” “Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror,” Lifetime’s “Flying By” and Discovery’s “Battleground Earth,” which co-starred IDJ’s rap star Ludacris.
McHugh previously served as VP of visual media at Zomba Label Group, where he launched Zomba Films and co-produced “Crossroads,” and as VP of soundtracks at New Line Cinema.
