Cinedigm draw digital customers

Company sets conversion deals with exhibitors

Digital cinema provider Cinedigm has inked deals with six exhibs as part of its digital system rollout.

Deal will add an additional 94 screens to the 10,000 screens that are currently slated for digital conversion — a prerequisite for 3D.

Exhibs are members of the National Assn. of Theater Owners’ Cinema Buying Group, which is comprised of small independent theaters in the U.S. and Canada. CBG has more than 600 members that represent approximately 7,000 screens; Cinedigm has contracted with nearly 400.

Of the six circuits to recently join, Ajay Theaters, based in Memphis, Tenn., reps the largest with 56 screens in four locations. Other exhibs include West Orange 5, Athena Grand, Great 8 Cinema, Sullivan 6 Cinema and Keystone Cinema.

Cinedigm has completed more than 4,500 digital systems to date.
