Arri supports ‘Wickie’

'Treasure' is Germany's first live-action 3D production

Arri is giving plenty of support to Germany’s first live-action 3D production, “Wickie and the Treasure of the Gods.”

The Munich-based tech company’s rental unit, Arri Rental, is supplying camera and grip alongside a complete package of 3D equipment, including four Arri Alexa digital cameras and a full complement of on-set 3D playback and viewing equipment.

Meanwhile, Arri Film & TV will deploy its postproduction services trailer — an air-conditioned vehicle equpped with workstations designed for on-set work — to the set for the duration of the shoot.

The picture is the sequel to the first Wickie film. Christian Ditter is directing and the film is being produced by Rat Pack Filmproduktion in conjunction with Constantin Film Produktion and B. A. Produktion.

Preparations for the shoot began at the end of last year and shooting commenced on August 31 on sets in Bavaria and Malta.
