Filmmaker of the year Eddie goes to director
The American Cinema Editors have tapped Rob Reiner to receive the ACE Golden Eddie filmmaker of the year nod.
Reiner’s longtime friend and collaborator Christopher Guest will present the honor at the 60th annual ACE Eddie Awards ceremony on Sunday at the Beverly Hilton.
“He has directed some of the most influential motion pictures of the past 20 years and deftly moves between genres telling compelling and moving stories that weave themselves into our social conscious,” the ACE board of directors said in announcing the kudo.
Reiner’s helming credits include “This Is Spinal Tap,” “Stand by Me” and “The Princess Bride.” He co-founded Castle Rock Entertainment and, under that banner, produced and directed “When Harrry Met Sally,” “Misery,” “The American President,” “Ghosts of Mississippi,” “A Few Good Men” and “The Bucket List.”
